Sally English Atlanta Real Estate: English Family Celebrates the Fourth of July at The Farm

Tim's family owns a farm in North Fulton County in the city of Milton.  It is a bit of an anomaly as the farm is surrounded by subdivisions.  But that hasn't kept his father, J.L. English, from continuing to organically grow vegetables and fruits.

We had a big gathering of family and friends at the Farm on July Fourth and a good time was had by all.

As soon as the Peachtree Road Race runners arrived, we feasted on Barbeque ribs, slow smoked pork butt, smoked chicken, slaw, potato salad, deviled eggs, cucumber tomato salad, baked beans, fresh green beans from Mr. Englishes farm and a squash casserole made by Mrs English from fresh English farm squash.

Desserts included home made ice cream, banana pudding, coconut cake, peach cake, red velvet cake, chocolate chip cookies.

Tim had small bottled cokes, diet coke, iced tea and cold water for us to drink.

After the lunch we lounged under shade trees and had good conversation.

Once our food had digested we picked blueberries, figs, squash, zucchini, green beans, bell peppers, poblano peppers, serrano peppers and cucumbers from Mr. English's garden and orchard.

Bird watchers would have enjoyed Mr. English's purple martins dip and dive as they caught mosquitoes and flies in mid air.  Mr. English says about half of his 50 or so nesting pairs have already left for South America.

We also saw goldfinch, hawks, blue hereon, blue birds, blue jays, cardinals, crows and a lot more I could not identify.

Flowers in bloom included roses, day lilies (almost gone), hydrangeas, butterfly bush, crepe myrtle (a really strong flowering year for them, daisies, rose of Sharon and lots more.

We saw Monarch butterflies and lots of smaller butterflies.
