Setting Up An Apartment in Georgetown part Two: Settling In
In Part One of Setting Up An Apartment in Georgetown I discussed the move-in over MLK weekend of my daughter and niece into a converted four plex in the Georgetown district of Washington DC. Today we are tackling the details of the move in and going to Lowes for some supplies.
First on the list was unclogging the bathroom sink. The problem was a sink that was completely clogged up. My husband Tim tackled the sink with an extra large container of Draino Gel and a plunger. It took him most of the evening to get the sink drain working again. Tim started before we went to dinner at a Thai restaurant in Kimball and then worked on it for an hour after we returned to the apartment. It finally broke free before we went to bed.
Next on the list are window treatments. We need to
•1. Put up some curtain rods we brought from home
•2. Hang some blinds.
There was an assortment of window treatments in place when we arrived but there are some windows that have nothing at all.
Also on the list is finding out why some of the electrical outlets do not work in one of the bedrooms. Apparently there is a panel board in the basement.
Recycling: Must be some way to recycle bottles cans and paper here in Georgetown. We need to figure that out today.
And finally, they need wifi. Some of the apartments in the fourplex have wifi. Perhaps we can work out something with their fellow tenants.

Enjoy the whole moving in proces.. It's loads of work but exciting at the same time.
While you are busy busy uh. I remember those days except it was boys and FSU but oh well, what memories are made of.
Thanks Leah and Joyce,
We had a great weekend. Everyone is worn out from moving furniture around plus the loading and unloading. The drive back through the Shenandoah Valley was lovely.
My daughter is a teacher at Saint Stephens Saint Agnes School so she had to jump right back into work this morning also.
