When I was building custom homes in metro Atlanta, Shubert was my "go to" supplier for an affordable paint that was easy to apply and looked great after it was on.  Shubert paints is a small manufacturer in Tucker Georgia supplying paint to lots of hardware stores and retailers who then put their own label on the product.  Shubert's "Southern Velvet" is a great product and I have used it for years on my own home and on my rental properties.

The best part of the Shubert operation is that they sell paint to contractors and to individuals in the know.  You can walk in their storefront and have a knowledgeable rep mix your custom paint and match whatever you bring in.  These guys give great advice about their products, surface pre or anything painting related.

The cost of the paint is less than major retailers and you can get it in 5 gallon buckets for larger orders.  I particularly like this option when repainting rentals.

About a year ago they became a retailer for Benjamin Moore paints.  The process was a bt convoluted but the end result is great.  Contractors have come from all over Atlanta to purchase Benjamin Moore paints because they are often specified in commercial bids.  They come the first time for the product but they come back because of the service.  Shubert Paints reps are a pleasure to work with.

With the pretty spring weather contractors were out in force today as the improvements to Tucker's Main street continue.  When finished the new curb, side walks, green areas and signage should make the street a lot more visually appealing.

The effort to draw more pedestrians, shoppers and visitors to Tucker has been slowed down by winter weather but we have seen the work force going full bore these last few days.

Jennifer Garner is walking the TYSA Soccer fields this week as filming of the Disney Movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Greeen" is underway.  Traffic signs warn that motorists should be prepared to stop between March 21st and March 25th as the Tucker youth Soccer Association soccer fields are turned into a movie set.

Parking for Extras, production vehicles and catering have been arranged around the Northlake

We looked for Jennifer Garner as we drove by but it looked like everyone was taking a break from filming.
